Sweeping cobalt fronds curl and feather across the plate in a loose, breathing pattern, punctuated by small clusters of tiny blue blossoms and finished with a border of hand-painted dots tracing the scalloped edge. Painted on a war ground, the linework has the slight looseness of a brush moving freely — no two plates in the set quite identical, which is the artisan's signature, not a flaw.
Set the table with all four for a look that holds its own, or layer a single Sophia plate beneath something plainer for a quieter statement.
